Energy trade in a low carbon world: what role for hydrogen?

14 November 2022
European Union

As the world moves towards climate neutrality, fossil fuel use and hence international trade in fossil fuels will decline. We will discuss what role other fuels such as hydrogen can play to replace fossil fuels and what does this mean for global energy trade. The side event will launch the 2022 edition of the Global Energy and Climate Outlook (GECO), which in this year focusses on this topic. The launch of the report will be complemented by perspectives on the role of hydrogen use in different countries, including the trade dimension.
